Calm Yoga with Lara
This is a Hatha Yoga Class suitable for all abilities.
The class aims to allow people to move and stretch their bodies in a mindful way, using the breath to bring awareness to the movement. We use breath and visualisation techniques to allow our minds to focus and become calmer.
The class starts with a body scan and series of warm up movements where we begin to combine the movement and the breath. We then work with the main focus or theme of the class, the focus changes each week and has included; feeling grounded, paying attention, taking care, hip opening and gentle back bending. We end with pranayama (breath exercises), relaxation and a final body scan.
The class is friendly and inclusive. I aim to offer different options for every asana (physical posture) we do, including the use of chairs, yoga bricks and blocks to support postures.
I am qualified through the British Wheel of Yoga to teach adults and I also teach children’s yoga.
